Images of uninhabited and populated places, of rust, of crooked signs and labels deteriorated by wind, water and sun. After 43 years living here, I wanted to construct a contemporary memory of this country. The images are a metaphor for our lives, which pass by and leave barely a trace of dust and forgetfulness. Solitary or desert landscapes where one can ponder about the present and the past: what lives contemplated these landscapes before me or when I am not here? What stories happen or happened here? How much beauty is there in the deterioration of things? I have chosen the heat and the peak hours of the summer months to carry out this intimate work, laden with the emotions of a semi-foreigner and that beauty which does not come from established norms, but from a gaze full of doubt and sensitivity from which, I believe, good projects are born.
